If you are having trouble signing out of your TV provider, we recommend trying one or more of the troubleshooting options below.
Select your supported device for specific instructions:
Roku
Option 1: Update your Roku device
To successfully sign out of your TV provider on your Roku, first ensure that your device is running the latest Roku OS version.
To check if your Roku app is updated:
- Press the Home button on the remote
- Scroll through the menu on the left side and select Settings
- Select System
- Select System Update
- Select Check Now to manually check for updates
Option 2: Clear your Roku cache
If you are still not able to sign out of your TV provider after manually checking for updates, you may need to clear the cache on your device.
To clear the cache on your Roku:
- Select Settings
- Scroll down and select System
- Scroll down and select System restart
- If your Roku is a newer model, the System restart option may be located under Settings
- Select Restart
- Your device will then shut off and then turn on again
Option 3: Uninstall and reinstall the Freeform app on Roku
If the problem persists after clearing your cache and confirming that your device is running the latest Roku OS version, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the Freeform app on your device.
To uninstall the Freeform app on Roku:
- Go to your Roku’s home screen by pressing the Home button on your remote
- Locate the Freeform app to uninstall it
- Press the asterisk (*) button on your remote
- Select Remove Channel
To reinstall the Freeform app on Roku:
- Select Streaming Channels from the home screen
- Browse for the Freeform app in the Channel Store or type “Freeform” in the search bar
- Select the Freeform app and select Add Channel
- Select OK
Option 4: Restart your your Roku device
If the steps above do not resolve your issue, try restarting your device:
To restart your Roku:
- Go to your Roku’s home screen and select Settings
- Select System
- Select System Restart
- Select Restart
- Unplug your Roku device from its power source for a full five minutes
- Restart your Roku device to test the issue again
Amazon Fire TV/Fire Stick
Option 1: Update your Fire TV/Fire Stick device
To successfully sign out of your TV provider on your Fire TV/Fire Stick, first ensure that your device is running the latest Fire TV OS version.
- On your device’s home screen, select Settings (indicated by the gear icon)
- Select My Fire TV
- Select System Restart
- Select and confirm Restart
- To check if your Amazon Fire TV app is updated:
- On your device’s home screen, select Settings (indicated by the gear icon)
- Select My Fire TV
- Select About
- Select Check for Updates
Option 2: Clear your Fire TV/Fire Stick cache
If you are still not able to sign out of your TV provider after manually checking for updates, you may need to clear the cache on your device.
To clear the cache on your Fire TV/Fire Stick:
- On the home screen, select Settings (indicated by the gear icon)
- Select Applications
- Select Manage Installed Applications
- Locate and select the Freeform app
- Select Force stop
- Select Clear cache
- Select Clear data
Option 3: Uninstall and reinstall the Freeform app
If the problem persists after you’ve cleared your cache and confirmed that your device is running the latest Fire TV OS version, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the Freeform app on your device.
To uninstall the Freeform app on Fire TV/Fire Stick:
- On the home screen, select Settings (indicated by the gear icon)
- Select Applications
- Select Manage Installed Applications
- Locate and select the Freeform app
- Select Force stop
- Select Clear cache
- Select Clear data
- Select and confirm Uninstall
To reinstall the Freeform app on Fire TV/Fire Stick:
- On the home screen, select the Find button
- Select Search
- Type “Freeform” in the search bar
- Locate and select the Freeform app
- Select Download
Option 4: Restart your your Fire TV/Fire Stick device
If the steps above do not resolve your issue, try restarting your Amazon Fire TV/Fire Stick device.
To restart your device:
- On the home screen, select Settings (indicated by the gear icon)
- Select My Fire TV
- Select System Restart
- Select and confirm Restart
